SJC Recruitment is assisting a company that provides infrastructure maintenance to the public sector, utilities industry and other large Organisations, with current revenues in excess of £1.2 billion and over 10,000 employees over 150 National locations.
We are currently seeking a Senior Protection Design Engineer to oversee the following duties:
1. Minimum 5 years working experience in the Electrical Power Sector. (up to 132kV)
2. Working experience of contracts in the UK utilities sector or National Grid Companies. (NGT, Scottish Power or EDF Energy etc)
3. Familiarity with relevant industrial standards: EN, BS, TPS, and NGTS governing the UK industry.
The Role (Control and Protection)
Ø Front End Design Proposal
Ø Main Protection and Connection diagrams
Ø Familiar with protection setting calculations
Ø Protection designs (AC and DC Circuit Diagrams, interface cable connection diagrams)
Ø Able to interpret client specifications from tender documentation
Ø Able to hold client technical meetings/progress review
Ø Able to use AutoCAD design package would be beneficial
The job will require occasional travelling throughout the UK for meetings and site visits. Candidates with UK driving licence are therefore preferred.
