Children attending a Bath Junior School are geared up for a fantastic prize draw thanks to a special donation from the region’s leading recruitment consultancy.
SJC Recruitment, based on Wood Street, Bath, have generously donated two brand new Raleigh mountain bikes to Oldfield Park Junior School, as a way of helping the school’s Parent Teacher Association to raise funds. The bikes will be given away as prizes in a prize draw organized by the school’s PTA, and children are being encouraged to buy tickets to be in with a chance of pedaling away on one.
The funds raised from the prize draw, due to take place on 27th June, will be put towards equipment for the school’s brand new music room.
SJC Recruitment decided to donate the bikes, supplied by Hares Cycle Works in Weston, as part of their ongoing commitment to supporting the local community at all levels. There is one bike for the lower school and one for the upper school, and they are already proving to be popular with the children.
PTA member Ellen Matthews said that she was delighted with the generous donation from SJC Recruitment. She commented, “The children think the bikes are great and they will certainly be a superb prize for whoever wins. We have two prize draws, one for years three and four and another for years five and six, and we’re selling the tickets for £1 each.”
“The PTA are currently raising funds for a new PA system for the music room, and the bikes will certainly help to give our fundraising a boost!”
The school has also recently just started its cycle training programme for 2008, encouraging the pupils to be safe and aware when out on the road.
Sara Child, managing director of SJC Recruitment commented, “Once again we’re thrilled to be offering our support locally. Oldfield Park Junior School does some fantastic work, and we hope that these bikes will enable the PTA to raise lots of money for the school’s music room.”
“Fitness and activity is an important part of any child’s lifestyle, so by donating these two bikes we also hope that we’ll be encouraging the winners to get plenty of fresh air and exercise over the summer months.”
