SJC Recruitment is celebrating a successful three month campaign of fundraising which has raised over £2,000 for local charities through a variety of fun events.
Starting in March, the leading south west recruitment consultancy launched a range of wacky activities for Spring to put the FUN into FUNdraising - raising funds and awareness for their chosen charities - the Friends of Bath Cats & Dogs Home, and the MacDonald Family Trust.
Car washes, street collections, chocolate bribery and even a good old-fashioned egg and spoon race all took place in the spirit of fun, showing that when it comes to FUNdraising, SJC are streets ahead of the competition.
In March the SJC Mad March Hares were out on the streets of Bath on Friday afternoons, giving free chocolate eggs in return for donations. Spreading extra Easter joy, the Hares also paid a visit to the Royal United Hospital in Bath and the Great Western Hospital in Swindon to give books to the children.
April Shower car washes then took place the following month in Bath and Swindon, raising hundreds more for the charities. Armed with buckets and sponges, volunteers from SJC and the Mad March Hares joined forces with local firefighters to clean cars in return for donations.
In May the campaign saw a grand finale of a corporate Egg & Spoon Race held in Queen Square, Bath, with over 20 teams from across the city competing for the coveted SJC Egg Cup. In a relay-style race, runners competed in heats to progress to the final. After a great deal of rivalry and escapades, the winning team to take the “Egg Cup”, and official Egg & Spoon Champions of Bath, were Moore Stephens Chartered Accountants.
The campaign has raised in excess of £2,000 through the various events, and donations from the public. The money will be divided between the Friends of Bath Cats & Dogs Home, and the McDonald Family Trust who raise funds for CLIC Sargent. £300 raised by the Swindon office through a car wash held in conjunction with Swindon Fire and Rescue Service will be donated to the Firefighters Charity.
Managing Director of SJC Recruitment, Sara Child, says she has been delighted with the response from businesses and members of the public who have really added their weight to SJC’s charity drive.
She commented, “The whole campaign has been a real success, and it goes to show that despite the current climate of financial uncertainty people are willing to get involved to show their support for local charities.”
“Both the McDonald Family Trust who raise funds for CLIC Sargent, and the Friends of Bath Cats & Dogs Home, put a lot of effort into their fundraising activities, and we wanted to add SJCs support to their respective causes. We were also delighted to be able to support the Firefighters Charity through our Swindon Car Wash.”
“I would like to extend our thanks on behalf of everyone at SJC to all those who have made donations and taken part in our FUNdraising activities over the past three months. As well as helping us to raise hundreds for charity, it has also been a lot of fun!”
