The SJC Spring FUNdraiser was in full swing last month with the SJC “April Shower” Car Wash.
The charity car wash was held in support of the Firefighters Charity and CLIC Sargent, and took place at the Fire Station on Drove Road, Swindon on Saturday 26th April. The Fire Brigade helped the SJC Recruitment Team to wash vehicles to raise funds for the local branches of the two charities.
The car wash raised over £600 which was added to the total of £500 previously raised by the SJC Recruitment team. The SJC Mad March Hare mascots have helped to raise hundreds of pounds for local charities through various street collections and activities at SJC’s offices.
The Firefighters Charity provide services that enhance quality of life for serving and retired fire service personnel and their families, whilst CLIC Sargent are the UK's leading children's cancer charity offering care and support for children and young people with cancer and their families.
SJC are leading by example to prove their commitment to raising as much money as possible over the coming months, and have been donating £5 for every candidate, and £50 for every job registered from a client using the codewords “SJC’s Spring FUNdraiser” when booking.
In addition to the fundraising, one of the SJC Hares also took time out to pay a special visit to the Children’s Ward at Swindon’s Great Western Hospital, where he gave out colouring books, donated by Parragon Publishing, to the children.
Vicky Smith, Director of SJC Recruitment Swindon commented, “We’re delighted to be offering our support to the local branches of these two charities.”
“The Fire Service is a vital organisation that is there for anyone that needs it, so we therefore wanted to help to raise some money for the Firefighters Charity as a way of thanking them for their efforts in what must be an extremely difficult job.”
“We chose to also support CLIC Sargent as everyone is affected by cancer at some point in their life, whether it’s a friend, relative or themselves, and CLIC do an amazing job of providing support victims of cancer.”
