As people’s moods lighten, with dark winter months turning to sunnier Spring days, a leading Bath recruitment consultancy is springing into action with three months of activities on behalf two local charities with the aim of raising FUNDS and FUN.
SJC Recruitment & Training, based on Wood Street in Bath with offices in Bristol, Swindon and Reading, is undertaking a three-month long “SJC Spring FUNdraising” charity campaign throughout March, April and May to raise funds for two local causes, The McDonald Family Trust and the Friends of Bath Cats & Dogs Home.
The McDonald Family Trust works on behalf of CLIC Sargent - the UK's leading children's cancer charity offering care and support for children and young people with cancer and their families. The Friends of Bath Cats and Dogs Home help to raise vital funds for the Home on Claverton Down who take care of hundreds of animals each year. The Home’s services in caring for all of the animals and running the centre costs £3,000 per day.
The first stage of the campaign will see “March Madness”, with the “SJC Mad March Hares” out and about in Bath’s city centre every Friday afternoon throughout March. The SJC Mad March Hares, who have taken over the role of the Easter Bunny, will be out on the streets and visiting businesses giving away free chocolate eggs and asking for donations to support the two worthy causes.
“April Foolery” will then take place on two Saturdays in April when motorists will be able to take their vehicle for an “April Shower” courtesy of the SJC team who will be holding charity car washes in return for donations. The car washes are provisionally scheduled for Saturday 12th April at Bath Cats & Dogs Home, and the Homebase car park on Saturday 26th April.
The following month there will be “May-hem”, as businesses in and around Bath compete for the coveted Egg Cup in an Egg and Spoon Race to be held in Queen Square. The event will see a relay-style race around the square, with contestants taking care not to end up with egg on their faces. Team entry fees will be donated to the cause.
In addition to funds raised form the events, SJC are leading by example to prove their commitment to raising as much money as possible. SJC will be donating £5 for every candidate, and £50 for every job registered from a client in this three month period as long as they use the codeword SJC’s Spring FUNdraiser when booking.
Sara Child, Managing Director of SJC Recruitment commented, “Everyone here at SJC is really looking forward to having some fun over the next three months in the SJC Spring FUNdraiser, but as well as putting the emphasis on having fun there is also a serious reason behind the campaign.
“We wanted to offer our backing to local causes. The Friends of Bath Cats & Dogs Home and the McDonald Family Trust do fantastic work and we’re delighted to be able to add our support to their campaigns. With March Madness, April Foolery and May-hem, we hope to raise as much as possible whilst encouraging people to have fun. To start it all of the Mad March Hares will be out and about in the city centre soon, so look out for them!”
