One visitor to Bath’s Royal United Hospital and Swindon’s Great Western Hospital will had a spring in his step this Easter as he paid a surprise visit to the Children’s Wards.
The SJC Mad March Hare visited the children in Bath on Thursday 20th March and Swindon on Tuesday 25th March to give out a selection of colouring books and pens to brighten up their days during their stay. The colouring books were kindly donated by Parragon Publishing based in Bath.
The visit was part of the SJC Spring Charity Campaign which is taking place in and around Bath and Swindon over the coming months, featuring street collections, charity car washes and an egg and spoon race in Queen Square, Bath.
The campaign launched at the start of March and has already seen the Mad March Hares taking to the streets, armed with chocolate eggs, to raise money for two worthy local causes – the MacDonald Family Trust in aid of CLIC Sargent, and the Friends of Bath Cats and Dogs Home. The Mad Hares have been collecting money and giving out chocolate in Bath on every Friday throughout the month of March and so far have raised over £100.
During the Bath Half Marathon, the Hares were also out and about to help the main race charity, CLIC Sargent, to raise even more money. The Hares took to the streets during the morning with their collecting buckets, collecting donations from generous race-watchers.
Sara Child, Managing Director of SJC Recruitment commented, “The SJC Hares have been well received and have already become familiar faces around Bath city centre!”
“We wanted to do something fun for the children to take their mind of their stay at the RUH and Great Western, so we decided to take them some colouring books, kindly donated by our friends at Parragon Publishing. The SJC Hare will visit the children in Bath on Thursday morning and Swindon on Tuesday morning, and will hopefully help to brighten up their Easter.”
