On 14th May businesses from across the city will compete in Bath’s first ever corporate Egg & Spoon Race. The event will see teams of up to four people competing in a relay-style egg and spoon race around Queen Square, all in the spirit of fun and raising funds.
Organisers are now looking for teams to sign up for the race to raise funds for local charities as part of SJC Recruitment’s Spring FUNdraiser. Each team pays £20 to enter the SJC Egg & Spoon Race, proceeds of which will be added to the money raised so far. Each team entered will also receive vouchers for a free lunch courtesy of Intermezzo on Barton Street.
Sara Child, Manager Director of SJC said, “We have had lots of interest in the race, especially from businesses around Queen Square and across Bath. We have also had a great deal of interest from people wanting to come along and watch so we’re looking forward to a huge turnout on the day. It’s a great opportunity to have some fun and raise money and awareness for the charities, which sums up what SJC’s Spring FUNdraising campaign is all about.”
The race winners will be presented with a bottle of champagne and the coveted ‘egg cup’ which is sure to take pride of place in any workplace! To enter a team, contact Eventy – Marketing & PR on 01225 337363 or send an email to info@eventy.co.uk . The deadline for entries is 10th May 2008.
During March and April, SJC Recruitment has been busy raising hundreds of pounds for local charities through their Spring FUNdraiser campaign which has seen Mad March Hares collecting on our streets and April Shower car washes.
SJC Recruitment based on Wood Street, Bath, have been on a mission to put the fun into fundraising through a range of activities over the past two months having raised over £700 already, and the fun is set to continue in May with the special egg and spoon race.
On Saturday 17th March the SJC staff were busy washing cars to help raise even more money for their chosen causes – CLIC Sargent and the McDonald Family Trust who both offer care and support for children and young people with cancer and their families. The car wash was held in the Homebase Car Park on Pines way, where members of the public made donations in return for their cars getting an April Shower and a Spring Clean courtesy of SJC Recruitment. Despite a wet and gloomy day, £90 was raised.
Sara Child added, “For us the campaign has not just been about raising money, it has also been about creating awareness of these charities that rely on donations from the public. I’m pleased that SJC Recruitment has been able to offer its support to the causes, and we hope to raise even more money from our egg and spoon race next month.”
