Credit Controller in Thornbury

Responsibilities include:

  • Contacting customers by telephone, e mail and fax ensuring terms are adhered to and agreed service levels are achieved
  • Responsiblily for 3000-4000 accounts ranging from Corporates to Commercial debts
  • 3 hours of calls per day to customers regarding outstanding invoices.
  • Small customer service involvement
  • Working closely with Customer Services team, and ensure all queries are resolved within 24 hours

Qualifications, experience, knowledge and competencies:

  • GCSE/ A Levels required in Maths
  • Experience of Credit Control essential
  • Experience of working within a busy administrative role
  • Banking or financial background desirable
  • Team player – works well with colleagues, making constructive contribution towards the success of the department
  • Conscientious – sets high personal standards for all work output
  • Goal orientation - Ability to prioritise effectively while working on several different projects. Able to work quickly and effectively and able to work under pressure to set deadlines using planning tools such as critical path analysis, where appropriate.
  • Communication – the ability to communicate effectively at all levels by demonstrating a range of methods to successfully build relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues
  • Time management – Able to plan and organise own time effectively as well as ensuring projects remain on schedule and regularly checking the workload and progress of the staff within your remit
  • Planning – completer/finisher. Able to plan ahead, see a job through from start to finish
  • Initiative – ability to forward think, use initiative and be proactive
  • Flexibility – adapts positively to changing circumstances
  • Approach – calm, positive enthusiastic attitude, self motivated, keen to develop knowledge and skills as well as share own experiences with junior staff within your remit
  • Previous knowledge of AS400 and Excel desirable, but not essential
