Technical Support Engineer

An opportunity has now arisen for the role of Technical Support Engineer based at our clients offices in Swindon who will also be expected to travel to sites nationwide.

We are therefore looking for someone who lives in the Swindon area. Travelling throughout the UK will be necessary on a frequent basis and you must also be prepared to spend time away up to a week at a time.

Job Description:
? Receive and respond to all internal and external technical enquiries.
? Technically supporting Company hardware, software, system integration and applications.
? Providing and assisting with technical input for sales and installations
? Maintain and communicate the best and most up-to-date product knowledge.
? Provide dial up support for customers
? Carry out quality checks on customers sites to ensure high standards of maintenance are being achieved

Candidate Specification:

? Highly professional and enthusiastic technician preferably with technical support experience.
? Engineer/ Graduate in Electrical, electronics, computer sciences or software or equivalent qualifications.
? Computer literate (Windows based applications) understands PC architecture, data manipulation, networking
? Willing to learn and adapt to changing role requirements
? Ability to be both self directed and independent in task execution and management and to work within a team of support engineers
? Systematic and logical with strong ability in troubleshooting and problem solving skills
? Able to deal confidently and efficiently with internal and external customers
? Excellent communication skills
? Ability to appreciate and explain something from several different angles and at differing levels
? Someone who enjoys a challenge

Qualifications:

? HND in controls electronics (or equivalent)
? 16th Edition
? Knowledge of mechanics an advantage
