In 2008 our charities Direct Marketing team is forecast to raise over £3m from individual donations and legacies and in the coming years we aim to increase this figure to provide reliable income for the charity. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced direct marketer to help us achieve these goals and be a key player in the development of the team.

The main purpose of the role is:

  • To implement and develop the charity’s strategy relating to all areas of individual supporter acquisition and retention with an aim to meet the 5 year fundraising strategy and objectives.
  • To manage a range of direct marketing campaigns to recruit new donors, retain current supporters and maximise life-time value.
  • To identify new fundraising trends and opportunities for the charity
  • To manage customer support and complaints from the existing supporter base.
  • We are looking for someone with an established track record of leading successful direct marketing acquisition and retention campaigns. The candidate will have the ability to make decisions on creative approaches, copy and all technical aspects of direct marketing.

The successful applicant will have experience of working on strategic plans and budgets and of managing external agencies and suppliers. An ability to analyse and segment data is essential. Applicants should also have excellent communication, people management and planning skills.
