Our clients offer a unique, fixed price approach as an alternative to the traditional legal firms. Their business is generated from intermediaries who refer clients in need of probate. Due to sustained new business growth, they have a vacancy for an experienced operations manager to take on the role of HEAD OF OPERATIONS.

JOB DESCRIPTION
You must be a commercially astute individual with a proven track record of success who can motivate, inspire and enthuse direct reports, colleagues and introducers, as you will be personally responsible for achievement of business targets, by:
• Managing and developing existing management team
• Ensuring effective resource management
• Ensuring the Company operates in a compliant manner
• Identifying and implementing innovative processes to improve the efficiency of the process
• Continually improving client care
• Managing staff recruitment development and retention
• Delivering excellent training programs for all staff
• Preparing, analysing and interpreting statistics and reporting to the board on progress towards targets
• Supporting the Directors and the Head of Sales in the development of the business

The successful candidate is likely to have a background of operations in Legal Services, or Financial Services and will be able to combine strong operational, leadership and technical skills with a sharp commercial awareness. The role will be office based.

• Established operation and management skills
• Management by objectives
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• High quality presentation skills (design and delivery)
• Ability to lead, manage and motivate direct reports
• Planning, organisation and control
• Ability to deliver personal objectives in a team environment
• Numerate
• Commercially astute
The role requires the following technical skills:
• Proven track record of Operational and management competence
• Operational experience more important than professional qualifications or sector experience although a professional qualification and/or an MBA will be an advantage
• Ideally used to operating within a Regulated Environment
• Outstanding communication skills
• Ability to learn and communicate technical matters relating to Administration of Estates, Estate Planning, Inheritance Tax and Laws of Succession
• Strong IT skills (in particular Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
Knowledge of probate and related issues is not essential, however, knowledge of the process is fundamental to the long term success of the role and candidates will have to demonstrate a proven ability to pick up technical subjects quickly and effectively.
