National Events Manager - Filton - £25k +
Main Purpose:
To maximise fundraising income, profile and the development of National Events and the brand, as well as deliver strategic plans which will double the event's income over the next 5 years. In addition, deliver agreed income targets within an acceptable cost income ratio in accordance with the vision, mission and values of the organisation.
You will report directly to the Head of National Events, as a member of the UK Fundraising team.
Principle Responsibilities:
- To strategically develop and manage events and associated merchandise, delivering plans that will double/triple their potential income.
- To achieve agreed financial and non-financial objectives at an acceptable cost income ratio.
- To write and implement a strategic marketing, project and PR plan for Events, producing a strategic post event analysis for each sector.
- To raise profile and secure and manage National/Associate Sponsors and media partners with a view to establishing longer term relationships for the future. TO ensure legal contracts are written, agreed and fully in place.
- To maximise awareness of products amongst retailers and corporate partners.
- To work with the Marketing department to develop the merchandise producrs and price points/quality satisfaction within the industry ensuring the company is seen to be a reputable and key retailer inthe market.
- To develop, inspire, motivate and manage direct reports preparing together comprehensive work plans in order to meet agreed targets.
- To monitor and keep abreast of all competitor activity.
- To appoint, manage and review key external suppliers for all events ensuring that contracts, SLA's and risk procedures are in place and abided to at all times.
- To aid in the designing of all marketing, website and pack materials for events.
- Take on any additional key projects for the National Events Department as required by the Head of National Events.
- To work closely with other team members to ensure good communication across the department and organisation.
- To represent the company
- Liaise with colleagues when researching and planning future events to ensure collaboration and continuity across departments.

Essential Requirements:
- An excellent and proven track record in managing successful national events/projects, one off events, campaigns and mass participation events.
- Must be able to demonstrate a successful track record of achievement in sales/marketing/fundraising.
- Must have enhanced experience in writing strategical business plans as well as planning, managing and delivering budgets.
- Experienceof pitching, securing and managing sponsors, charity relationships and partners.
- Knowledge and experience of working with national and regional media partners and managing launch events.
- Previous experience of managing staff.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of working in the "female/family targeted" industry and with corporate partners at a senior level.
- Experience of developing and delivering physical mass participation events and training.
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
- Knowledge and experience of the new media techniques and TV promotional campaigns.
- Knowledge and experience of working with celebrities and patrons.
- Knowledge and experience of merchandise development and retail.
- Knowledge and experience of of recruiting, managing and developing volunteers.
- Experience of working with children's causes or cancer charities.
- Experience of developing new and unique events.
Skills:
- Ability to multi task and manage projects effectively.
- Able to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Good understanding of risk and physical event management.
- Good influencing and negotiating skills.
- Ability to write, monitor budgets and set targets.
- Able to write strategic business plans.
